The story of the greatest wrestling match to never happen.

Peace & ET ain't calling home in this one.... In recent years, we’ve seen how quickly refugees as well as immigrants get labeled as threats. One wave of headlines and suddenly these humans become the invaders. Weapons, Bargaining chips, Political fuel.... Fear becomes a product, and people become pawns. My goal was to play with that theme. I ask what happens when we meet the unknown with suspicion before curiosity. When “protecting the border” becomes code for never listening. When we’d rather build camps and close doors than have a single honest conversation. Sound familiar? A huge influence here was a movie called District 9, one of the few sci-fi films that didn't make the aliens the villains, but still managed to hold up a brutal mirror to how we treat outsiders. This track runs with that mirror. The progression in my lyrics is meant to reflect a system where even peace gets shot down if it doesn't speak the right language or look the right way. By the end, the question isn’t what do they want? It’s who are we, if this is always how we respond... I wrote this from a place of real-world frustration, reflection, and hope that we can do better. I once called this song one of my Big Three, because i believed this was one of the three best pieces I've ever written. Well, it still ranks....but you'll be amazed what else I've got in store. Here's my latest country album with the vocalist known also as One Nasty Cowgirl. This time it's toned down and more radio friendly than her usual (often naughty) work. This is a part of ONC project which is actually a virtual AI created artist (I am using same vocalist all the time), that is specializing in southern/country/blues rock (sometimes with some grunge/alt.rock influences) and country/country pop. I felt when the lyrics were written that as the years pass, society and the attitude of the people living in it towards others changes. I feel that they are more and more concerned with themselves, they have been sucked into the digital world, so their emotional intelligence is at a low point. This is the leadoff track off of the Deaf Tonics debut album, released in January 2025. The album had three other singles, but hoping I can generate some buzz in anticipation of the first single of their second album, to be released soon.

Hey friends!I just wanted to chime in with a simple trick. This is not a rule to live by or anything, just something I have found useful in my own writing career. Hopefully it can help if you are ever stuck in a rut!If you feel like your lyrics sound generic -- which is another way of saying expected/unsurprising -- try flipping the song's sentiment on its head.What is the sentiment? It's sort of the core meaning of the song. Let's just take these lyrics as an example:"Show me something newDon't mind if you drive fasterYeah I can't stay away from youBut baby we'll be a disaster"Not the strongest fourth line, but good enough for an example. Based on this text, we would think this song is about:"Someone in a car with someone they like, worrying that their relationship is going to be a disaster"Okay. That's a sentiment right there. But the thing is: it is sort of a generic one. Why? Because it is a very typical thing for someone to worry about relationship issues. There's nothing special about it, per se.However, what if we changed the last line, so that instead the lyrics are:"Show me something newDon't mind if you drive fasterYeah I can't stay away from youCause I love a disaster"Suddenly, it feels different. Less generic. Why?Because now the sentiment has been changed from being about someone worrying about their relationship to:"Someone actively seeking a relationship because they want to watch it burn"Ethically speaking, this might seem a bit messed up.And yes, it is.But narratively, it adds tension.It takes out of the generic sentiment, what you'd first expect, and spices things up.So when you're in a rut, try switching things up! Write something that seems strange or contradictory to your song's initial sentiment. See what happens!P.S. I am by no means saying my example lyrics are of some golden standard. They're just an example from a song I made on Suno v.4.5. Here's the result. If you have recommendations of your own, I'd love to hear them in the comments, and I'm sure others would too!
